You know the feeling. Will the house be safe and secure while we are gone? As you drive away from your house, going for a fun weekend away or down south for the winter, you begin to worry. By the time you hit the highway, familiar thoughts are running through your mind: Did I turn off the toaster? The coffee pot? The iron? What if the house burns down? What if we come home to a house picked clean by burglars?
Let's not forget the worry and concern about your pets and plants. Will my friend or neighbor take as much care with my faithful pet and beautiful plants nurtured from seeds as we do? Or will we come home to a sick pet and dying plants?
Thankfully, we offer a cure for this panic attack: house sitting. Maybe you don't have a friend or neighbor who can keep a steady watch over your home while you're away, or you are uncomfortable asking them because you feel it's such an imposition and might cramp their plans. This is where our house sitting service can be an invaluable aid to your sanity.
Sturgis House Sitter will visit your home periodically throughout the day between 8am and 9pm to rotate lights, check each room for security, attend any pets, water plants (inside or outside), bring in the newspaper and collect the mail. We can even plow your driveway during winter months to give the appearance of "someone home," for an additional fee. In short, we ensure your pets and plants are well taken care of and your home presents a "lived in" appearance.
We even offer overnight services where a sitter spends the night in your home. Sitters arrive between 7 - 9pm and leave between 7 - 8am. This also provides an extra special comfort to pets and a mid day visit can be added, if necessary.
Using Sturgis House Sitter will permit you and your family that necessary piece of mind to truly enjoy your vacation or visit - without the worry about what is going on at home. Who says there's no such thing as a win-win situation?
PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
In order to provide the best possible service for you, we have established the following policies.
PAYMENT
Payments for services are to be paid in full at the time of booking for new clients or on the first day service begins for regular clients. We accept only cash or personal checks. All checks must be made out to John Bowen.
CANCELLATIONS
If the job total is under $300: $25 each instance
If the job total is over $300: 50% of the job total is due at the time of cancellation.
EARLY RETURNS
Cancellation of pre-paid visits due to your early return will not be credited towards future service visits.
HOLIDAY PAYMENTS AND CANCELLATIONS
Holiday charges will be $10 additional per day for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Christmas Eve.
VISITS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 PM AND 7:00 AM
Visits made between the hours of 8:00 pm and 7:00 am are subject to an additional $10 "tuck in" fee per late evening visit.
RESERVATIONS WITH LESS THAN 48 HOURS NOTICE
KEY COPIES
WE MUST HAVE 2 WORKING KEYS AT THE TIME OF THE INTERVIEW. ONE KEY IS FOR THE OFFICE AND THE OTHER KEY IS LEFT OUTSIDE OF THE HOME IN A DESIGNATED PLACE. IF THE SITTER IS NOT ABLE TO RECEIVE 2 COPIES OF THE KEY PLEASE GIVE THE SITTER $5.00 TO HAVE A KEY MADE.
